The CTF Program of International Cooperation seeks to advance progress on poverty reduction and sustainable development as part of Canadian commitment and contribution to reaching international Millennium Development Goals and “Education for All” targets.
This is achieved in partnership with national and regional teacher organizations in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Support is provided for initiatives within five interconnected Key Program Areas and the Engagement of Canadian Teachers:
Capacity Building of national teachers’ organizations
Professional Development for national teacher organization members
Gender equity for women and girls through advancing their empowerment
HIV/AIDS education, prevention and care through teacher engagement
Teacher Influence on National Education Plans to support quality, public education
Canadian engagement to deliver programming through mentoring, training and technical assistance.
