The Canadian Teachers’ Federation has partnered with Equal Voice for the upcoming Daughters of the Vote event which will bring 338 emerging women leaders – one from every federal riding in Canada – between the ages of 18 and 23, to Ottawa, March 6-8, 2017.

The majority (if not all) of these young women are former students who have benefitted from our publicly funded education system. The 40 teacher facilitators selected to join the Daughters of the Vote event will help to make and witness history, especially when the 338 Daughters of the Vote march to Parliament Hill and take their seats in the House of Commons on March 8, International Women’s Day. This initiative is designed to underscore the still incomplete, and often challenging, journey of women’s full political participation at all levels of government in Canada, and to cultivate the women leaders of tomorrow.

A most sincere thank you to CTF Member organizations (MO) who contributed generously towards the hotel accommodation costs of the 338 Daughters of the Vote (DoV) during their March 6 to 8, 2017 stay in Ottawa. Thanks to you, a total of $35,400 was raised!

In addition, we wish to thank Member organizations for nominating and sponsoring exceptional teacher leaders who will act as mentors, group leaders, and facilitators with the DoV.
