SUMMARY:2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
DESCRIPTION:\nWelcome to the 2025 CTF/FCE Annual General Meeting (AGM)! \n\n\n\nThis summer, from July 9th to July 11th, we are delighted to welcome you back to Ottawa, our vibrant nation’s capital, where the Gatineau, Rideau and Ottawa rivers meet. This area has been a natural gathering place for Indigenous peoples for thousands of years.\n\n\n\nOur country is vast, and our identities are diverse, but much like the root system of a great forest, our values are deeply interconnected. One of these core values is our understanding that a quality, inclusive publicly funded education system is foundational to our democracy.\n\n\n\nPublic education is at a critical juncture. Together with our Member and Associate Organizations, the CTF/FCE is working diligently to transform research into advocacy and insight into action. This effort is supported not only through our national campaigns but also through the strength of our networks, the expertise of our standing committees, and the reach of our International cooperation and Francophonie programs.  \n\n\n\nAfter two inspiring years as CTF/FCE President, I am truly excited to connect with all of you. Together, we will celebrate our profession and seek real solutions to the critical issues facing teachers and education workers across the country. Collectively, we have the knowledge and wherewithal to make tremendous and lasting change. \n\n\n\nTogether, we win!\n\n\n\nIn solidarity, \n\n\n\nHeidi Yetman President \n\n\n\nElections\n\n\n\nElection to the position of Vice-President of the Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF/FCE) for the 2025-2027 term.\n\n\n\nCandidates for CTF/FCE Vice-President in a designated position for women (2 seats available):\n\n\n\nPlease note: if unsuccessful, candidates for Vice-President positions designated for women have the option of running in an open seat.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConnie Keating, NBTABiographical sketch and election statement\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLillian Klausen, MTSBiographical sketch and election statement\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRita Mueller, NWTTABiographical sketch and election statement\n\n\n\n\n\nCandidates for CTF/FCE Vice-President in a designated diversity position (1 seat available):\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTesa Fiddler, OECTABiographical sketch and election statement\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCandidates for CTF/FCE Vice-President in a position open at large (2 seats available):\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKaren Littlewood, OSSTF/FEESOBiographical sketch and election statement\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTrent Langdon, NLTABiographical sketch and election statement\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAward Recipients\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMonica RusnakSpecial Recognition Award\n\n\n\nThis award is presented to individuals who have given meritorious service to education and/or the teaching profession at the provincial/territorial, national or international level. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJames RyanSpecial Recognition Award\n\n\n\nThis award is presented to individuals who have given meritorious service to education and/or the teaching profession at the provincial/territorial, national or international level.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSteve BrooksSpecial Recognition Award\n\n\n\nThis award is presented to individuals who have given meritorious service to education and/or the teaching profession at the provincial/territorial, national or international level.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrandi RaiPublic Education Advocacy Award\n\n\n\nThis award recognizes dedicated, long-standing service, as well as major contributions to benefit public education.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKeynote Speakers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAndy HargreavesBiography\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEdward MatwawanaBiography\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImportant Information\n\n\n\nThe 105th Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF/FCE) will be held at the Delta Ottawa City Centre (101 Lyon Street North) in Ottawa, July 9-11, 2025, starting at 18:00 (ET), Wednesday, July 9.
