SUMMARY:2023 Women’s Symposium
DESCRIPTION:\nThe CTF/FCE Women’s Symposium gathers leaders, staff, and members from our Member and Associate Organizations who identify as women. This event provides a unique opportunity for participants to connect, to engage in discussions on what hinders women’s advancement, and to gain the knowledge needed to make fundamental changes in the education sector and society.\n\n\n\nWith an audience of about 150 attendees coming from every province and territory in Canada, the 2023 Symposium will be held May 17–19 in Ottawa at the Delta Hotel City Centre, 101 Lyon Street North.\n\n\n\nOur theme “A Window on Our Worlds”, will explore topics that impact the growth of women in their own worlds and in the world at large, such as: leadership; career advancement; workplace equity and inclusion; work-life balance; challenges and opportunities; and much more.\n\n\n\nIn addition to hosting an outstanding group of women, the Symposium will offer attendees the opportunity to network and to share practical tips and innovative strategies.\n\n\n\nNote: The Women’s Symposium is open to people who identify as women.\n\n\n\nBelow you’ll find our speakers and presenters. In the unlikely event that we enter another serious wave of the virus or a provincial lockdown, we will be in touch with all attendees about alternate plans and provide an update on this event web page.Further:\n\n\n\n\nAll individuals attending the CTF/FCE events are asked to complete the Ontario Public Health self-assessment, prior to travelling to/arriving in Ottawa and prior to joining the Symposium on Wednesday, May 17.\n\n\n\nAnyone who feels unwell, is asked to please not attend the Symposium and contact CTF/FCE Meeting and Event Planner Nika Quintao as soon as possible.\n\n\n\nAlthough not required, we strongly encourage all participants to practice physical distancing where possible.\n\n\n\nPending the situation with COVID-19 in May, we may also encourage participants to wear a mask. If needed, we will be providing KN95 masks.\n\n\n\n\nPlease note that anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19, is waiting for a test result or has tested positive will not be admitted to the event.\n
