As a Francophone woman from Ontario involved for over a decade with AEFO, OTF and CTF in various positions, I am an ideal candidate for the position of CTF Officer.

The time has come for me to pursue my trade union journey, to take a step further and to run for the position of CTF Vice-President.

The experience and knowledge I have acquired as a member of executive committees, as an AEFO Director and Vice-President (local), and as an OTF Executive member, Governor and President (two mandates) attest to my commitment to and interest in trade unionism and the teaching profession. I have invested time and energy in support of the union cause, establishing a network built on professional respect with our education partners. I have also gained knowledge and experience that are both useful and essential for the position of CTF Vice-President.

I am ready to join the CTF leadership team and to work at promoting the teaching profession and improving its status and quality.

My experience, knowledge and skills are valuable assets for taking on the responsibilities and duties of the position.

A resident of Northern Ontario, I am a woman, a wife, a mother and a grandmother. I am a proud Francophone and have been teaching for over 35 years in our publicly funded schools.

I have a broad union experience. As a member of the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO), I have been active at the local and provincial levels as a counsellor for many years. My experience includes negotiating as well as serving on various committees, including budget, staff, legislation and presidency.

I have also served on the Board of Governors (15 years) and the Executive of the Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF). As such, I was delegated to the CTF AGM several times. I am currently the President of OTF, a position I also held in 2011-2012. I represent teachers from the four teacher unions in the province and maintain special relationships with several bodies, including the Ministry of Education, faculties of education and the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

In conclusion, I believe I have what it takes to competently fulfil the role of CTF Vice-president.
