The 2019 CTF/FCE National Staff Meeting takes place November 20-22, at the Westin Ottawa. To reflect the challenges that our profession faces and the need for a collective response, the theme for 2019 is “Our Profession, Our Voice”  

This event is organized for employees of member organizations and for Board members of the CTF/FCE.

Joel Westheimer is Research Chair in Democracy and Education at the University of Ottawa and an education columnist for CBC Radio. Author, speaker, and education advocate, he grew up in New York City where he taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in the NYC Public Schools. His latest book is What kind of citizen? Carol Campbell is Associate Professor of Leadership and Educational Change, at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. She is a member of the International Council of Education Advisers for the Scottish Government and an elected Board member of the International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement. Her research includes collaboration with teachers’ federations in Canada and internationally on teachers’ professional learning and development, teacher leadership and professional identity. Her recent co-authored books are: Teacher Learning and Leadership: Of, By and For Teachers (Routledge), Empowering Educators in Canada (Jossey-Bass) and Empowered Educators: How High-Performing Systems Shape Teaching Quality Around the World (Jossey-Bass).
