Violence in Schools: Beyond Quick Fixes

Violence in Schools: Beyond Quick Fixes
A national panel discussion presented by the CTF/FCE’s Source

Tuesday, April 14, 2026 | Tickets are free!

Across Canada, violence and aggression in schools are no longer isolated incidents – they are a growing concern in classrooms.

Join us for a national panel discussion exploring what violence in schools looks like, why it’s a growing problem, and the solutions needed to make schools safer for educators and students alike.

Register to attend virtually and submit your questions in advance. Ten participants will be selected by draw to attend in person.

This solution-focused dialogue will explore:

  • The social, emotional, and fiscal cost of violence
  • What governments are failing to address
  • What realistic steps can be taken now
  • How do we strengthen public education for future generations

Recent national data reveals that:

  • 55% of educators experienced violence or aggression in the last school year
  • 75% report no follow-up after incidents are reported
  • 41% of educators do not feel they have a safe work environment
  • 94% of teacher organizations are dissatisfied with existing protections

The concern extends beyond educators. A January 2026 survey of parents shows that bullying, aggression, and violence in their child’s school are getting worse. This reinforces that families are also feeling the strain of a system under pressure.
